Recipe for fried rice with egg
This is the simplest fried rice recipe. One of the first I'd learnt years ago. A cheap recipe for chinese fried rice, if you will.
This is a delicious fried rice you can whip up with an egg, left over rice and some dried chinese wine sausages. No MSG is used in this, so no worries about the side effects you sometimes get from eating at Chinese restaurant.
Fried rice ingredients
- 3 chinese wine sausages (soak in water for half and hour, pat dry with a kitchen towel and slice them finely)
- 1 egg (beaten)
- 2 bowls cooked rice
- extra virgin olive oil or extra virgin coconut oil
- 3 cloves of garlic (finely minced)
How to cook this easy fried rice
- Put a tablespoonful of olive oil in the saucepan and let the oil coat the base and sides of the pan
- Heat up the oil over the fire and add in the garlic. Stir until the oil sizzles.
- Add in the wine sausages and stir fry for a minute or two.
- Add in the egg and keep stirring to prevent the egg from sticking to the pot.
- As the egg begins to solidify, add in the rice and keep stirring to mix the ingredients thoroughly. If you'd like add salt to taste.
Here's another fried rice recipe that uses coconut oil. Recipe for thai fried rice and chicken
Apparently, people who eat food cooked in coconut oil look younger than their peers who eat food cooked in unsaturated oil. For that purpose, and for the rich flavour coconut oil gives food, you could subsituted olive oil with extra virgin coconut oil which is harder to get.
I managed to find online stores that sell extra virgin coconut oil. Click on the images to get the oil.
